Yasuyoshi Komizo

Yasuyoshi Komizo has been the Chairperson of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation since 2013. He is the former Special Assistant to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). His career with IAEA began in 1987.  

Komizo joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 1970 and worked as a diplomat for 42 years. He currently serves as the Secretary- General of Mayors for Peace. This organization aims to create a world without nuclear weapons and to ensure lasting world peace.
