Frances Zollner worked as a purchasing agent for the Manhattan Project at the University of Chicago.

At Chicago, Zollner would meet many of the scientists who were improving various scientific parts and procedures throughout the duration of Manhattan Project. Zollner played a role in typing up purchase orders for materials, many of which came directly from top scientists themselves. These purchase orders would then be sent off to various companies that supplied the needed construction materials.

For her work on the Manhattan Project, Zollner received a certificate acknowledging her role in making the atomic bomb successful. Frances Zollner passed away in 1995.
