Andrew Carol was a Staff Sergeant in the 393rd Bomber Squadron and the fitness instructor for the 509th Composite Group. He often gave athletic equipment to keep soldiers occupied on the long waits for the planes to return, and arranged ski trips on the weekends while they were at Wendover Field in Utah.
