The Atomic Heritage Foundation (AHF), a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the Manhattan Project and Atomic Age and its legacy, is seeking a full-time intern for summer 2014 to work on a variety of exciting projects in Washington, DC.

AHF manages the website “Voices of the Manhattan Project," featuring oral histories of Manhattan Project veterans. We are looking for an intern to help with interview transcription and editing, website maintenance, and publicity activities. Other projects include research and writing on the Manhattan Project and its legacy, adding historical documents to our online collection, and creating educational resources and lesson plans for teachers.

The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in public policy and history; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; a willingness to accept significant responsibility; and high levels of energy, creativity, and imagination. We are looking for someone who can remain highly focused and enthusiastic in a small office setting. Experience with website editing, video editing, conducting historical primary source research, and Adobe Creative Suites is a plus. 

The position pays a stipend of $250 per week, with the expectation that the intern will work 40 hours per week. We are conveniently located on Farragut Square, a half-block from the Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations.
