This summer, I spent seven weeks conducting research for my senior thesis in Paris, France, at the Institut Curie, a cancer foundation, museum, and archive collection dedicated to the Curie family. My Parisian perusing was specifically focused on Frédéric Joliot-Curie, the father of the French nuclear program.
On July 16, 1945, at 5:29 AM MT, Manhattan Project scientists conducted the world’s first atomic bomb test at the Trinity site near Alamogordo, New Mexico. The Atomic Heritage Foundation is pleased to feature dozens of audio/visual interviews with Trinity test eyewitnesses on the “Voices of the Manhattan Project” website.
